608th post: Small Change in foreign Currency

Image
Having been to many different countries, I have accumulated quite a number of coins. As you probably know, the money changer do not carry coins besides that of the local currency. Sure I could create a collection out of these, but there are extras left over for it. How to deal with these? I don't know what is the smallest denomination the money changer would accept, but it's certainly banknotes instead of coins. I have received RM 1 notes, which are worth only US$0.31, and sometimes, the highest denominated notes of that currency aren't worth much, so exchanging a few pieces, and getting the equivalent in foreign currency back as thick stacks of notes. Well, if going to the country again, make sure to bring those coins along, and try to use as much of the smallest denomination as possible, or pay in a way that you don't get small denominations. Example: Paying the exact change (or as close as possible) with as many of the low-denominated coins as possible inste

(Friend requests at my 2nd  account is very long. Add that to the current 2800+ and my other accounts and you would get the idea how large it is. I don't know what to do...) Woke up at 0605h but still sleepy from the day before. Manage to turn off the alarm before they ring at 0610h. Dad asked me to shower before him. After finishing stuff and changing at 0640h, ate breakfast. Dad send me to school. Have to leave by 0710h to avoid massive jam. Since there is quite some time before class start, asked him to drop in the neighbourhooding town as usual. As it's raining, I asked him to drop me elsewhere. Manage to get to the nearest bus stop that has buses that goes to my school. In the bus, I played my mp3 player. When I reach there, I walked to school. (It was still raining and still listing to my mp3) When I was almost reach the usual junction, I hear a voice that I don't recall being in the music. When I turned around, I saw an angry Chinese man in his 50s on his bike. I w

remove the unnecessary burderns

Image
(Image above is related to previous post and has nothing to do with the current post) Okay, I am now sick and tired of the unnecessary burdern of things that I don't like doing or is happening. Firstly, I would get the stuff that was never mine out of my room. I am already facing a shortage of space without it becoming messy and someone made it worse by putting stuff from somewhere (or moving my stuff) at the inconvient places like my study desk, the scanner, and a box which I open frequently. By putting those junk on top of it and leaving it there to rot for many months make me go mad. If so, why did you leave it there in the first place. If I want it removed, it should be done immidately and not the "I'll do it later" attitude and in the end, not doing it at all. Most of the people I am surrounded with seem to have the "I don't care" or "it's someone else's job" mentality. The shows I see on local TV (and around the region) seem to

editing mp3 files using iTunes

Image
I spent most of the day adding missing/corrupted information, making sure that compilations in an album appear together instead of seperately, and adding album images. At first, I was clueless at to why mp3 info looks okay on this pc but when I transfer to another pc/device, the info (that is not in latin charaters) appears messed up ( mojibake ). I noticed that when I added/edited info using Windows Media Player or Apple iTunes (above), the text becomes okay, though the ones I edited earlier in windows explorer are still messed up. The problem now is that the music I "received" from chinese sites are messed up. I can solve it by copying the file/folder name or open the readme.txt included in it using firefox by changing the encoding. It's time consuming though. As for the album art, I was clueless as to how to add image until today. 1st, I have to move the folder of the songs away from where you originally save to (otherwise, the text info can be edited). Then make sure

Annoyed...

Here are the stuff I'm annoyed with: People calling/messaging me at the inconvenient times (especially when I'm in the middle of drawing/sleeping) My laptop is too laggy but upgrading the RAM would mean voiding the warranty. There's always speed boost but other than my portable HDD, I don't have anything that is at least twice my current RAM size. People asking me to do things when I don't want to. (Even though I say otherwise) My body is aching The whole "national/racial/religion identity" thing. Not enough money to do/get what I want. The weather (I don't mind the rain, but THERE IS NO SNOW!) People smoking, especially in public areas Applied for about 5 jobs, but so far none of them called me back How I'm not what I want to be (biologically) grades and not getting courses that I want time limits, especially short ones felt like living in the past 4chan.org banning me for some unknown reason Being accused of something I didn't do Can't t

Events that took place this week

Here are a bunch of entries that took place from 8 Dec (Sat) to 12 Dec (Wed) 8 December 2007 (Saturday): Stayed at home most of the time. Decided to make major changes to my 3rd and 4th profile after making this post just the night before. Managed to watch "ef - a tale of memories" and "灼眼のシャナII" (Shakugan no Shana Second). 9 December 2007 (Sunday): Woke up earlier than usual (7am) on a Sunday. Father comes home with mother (she works the night shift and he went to fetch her) with MacD breakfast (it happens every week) at 9am. He also wants to watch "Doraemon" (ドラえもん) on RCTI (an indonesian free-to-air network). Had to connect the external antena via VCR (which is almost 12 years old) as the widescreen tv bought almost last year can't display it. Made a lot of changes to friendster, blogger and youtube profile. Later on around evening, went out with parents to fech my sister from work (Hans Art, Bishan Branch) without changing. Went to Sheng Siong sup

Friendster profile

Image
[Taken on 2007-12-07 20:00 (UTC+8)] Many people have been asking if this is my profile or had overheard people asking those around them whose profile this belongs to. Yes, this is my profile. How the profile turned out to be like this? Well it's a long story, so long that it dates back to around when I turned my (then) spare account . Also, I don't like putting a picture of myself or put my real name. ( 5th friendster profile , MySpace acc no.2 and Facebook are exceptions. Though nether of the people in the display image at myspace is me.) At one time (some years ago), the aim was to have a profile of an anime charater ( School Rumble ). At the time I did that, I already added my (seconday) school friends to both that account and the (then) main account . On that account, I did put in "would accept anyone from around the world". The number of friends quickly rose to half the limit (in those days, it was 1000) when I turn my (then) main account into the same thing.

What a week

Monday: the 3rd term of school has started. There were new subjects: Intermidate Accounting and Business Stastics. Had problems with payment of the books of the later and did not receive it on that day. A friend told me to bring my laptop from wednesday to friday for the project "Money Sense" Tuesday: I kind of knew this a few weeks ago but today was decleared a holiday for recgintion of efforts by Harvard University (was it in the US or the UK?). This did came out in the media. My secondary friend (Mark) offered me to go out with him the previous day. Ate at MacDonalds and then walked around White Sands (Pasir Ris) before deciding to go to Compass Point (Sengkang). Took 88 from the interchange and alighted the bus stop after the TPE (should have alighted the one just after that; nearer and less roads to cross) and walked to Compassvale (SE1) LRT station and reach the destination. There wasnt much to do there, so we end up going to a job agency in Nee Ann City (Takashimaya Sh
